Donations in Memory Of gloria Jerome Torrice
September 22, 1924 - July 18, 2022
The West Orange Arts Council, and on behalf of all of the Board Members, thanks Gloria Torrice, and her family, for her contributions to the arts. We wish to celebrate her life as she was a strong female force in the world of art. She has been a life-long Artist and resident of the Township of West Orange, NJ.
Gloria Jerome Torrice was one of a few known female artists of the Abstract-Expressionism school of art movement during the post-World War II era. Gloria started producing her fabulous body of work in the 1940s and 1950s in the NYC, metropolitan area. A contemporary of hers is fellow painter Jackson Pollack.
In 2018, the West Orange Arts Council had the privilege of honoring Gloria Jerome Torrice as a trailblazing artist of her time.
The family of Gloria Torrice has requested to accept donations to be given in support of the arts.
