Close to 100 people attended West Orange Arts Council’s Juneteenth Celebration of “A Salute to The Black Soldier – A Story Untold,” an exhibition that was part of the West Orange Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 17. West Orange Mayor Susan McCartney and Council President Tammy Williams were in attendance. The event was supported by the West Orange Human Relations Committee with Elizabeth Milhim and Dawne Adams featuring Llewellyn Parq Bar and Grill’s delicious fare. Guests experienced a powerful musical performance by Lynette Sheard along with a live painting by Monet Sheard, produced by Gregory Burrus Productions.
The works of West Orange Arts Council (WOAC) member artists Ameerah Bilal-Shabazz, Maria Estrela, Clara Ford, Mary Franklin, Karen Goldberg, Carol T. Jenkins, Theodore “MARDI” Jenkins, Joanne Leone, Cathleen McCoy Bristol, Della Moses Walker, John Piccoli, and Onnie Struther will be on display at the West Orange Arts Center until July 9.
