BRING YOUR OWN EASEL (B.Y.O.E.) TO WEST ORANGE TOWN HALL
West Orange Arts Council Pop-up Art Exhibit
WEST ORANGE, N.J. - The West Orange Arts Council will host a pop-up art exhibit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the West Orange Town Hall at 66 Main Street in West Orange.
B.Y.O.E. (Bring Your Own Easel) is a unique art event where artists can bring their own easels and display their work for the community to view. The date of Saturday, May 18 was chosen as it also marks the return of the West Orange Farmer's Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. after a three year hiatus to its new home at 80 Main Street, directly across from West Orange Town Hall.
"For me, art has always been a way of bringing people together and forming a common bond," said Brian Convery, West Orange Arts Council's newest Board Member. Convery is a resident of the town and the creator of the event. "I saw this opportunity to display art in the hallways of this truly beautiful building. In discussing with West Orange Mayor Robert Parisi and the West Orange Arts Council, we decided how cool it would be to decorate the Town Hall with art from local artists as another way to bring people together unite our community."
The BYOE event features local painters, sculptors and photographers.
