Juneteenth Art Exhibit: “Freedom In Full Color” Continues to be on display at the West Orange Arts Center until July 12th, 2025

The Juneteenth art show opening reception turned out to be a wonderful event. Many people from the community came out to enjoy the art exhibit, Film screening, and music, including NJ Assemblywoman, Rosy Bagolie, Mayor of West Orange, Mayor Susan McCartney, Chair of the West Orange Arts Council, Patricia Mitrano, and The Juneteenth Film Festival organizer, Tammy Williams.

This Juneteenth Festival is a local West Orange, NJ event located in Essex County, NJ where like-minded individuals come together in unity to share similar ideas and interests. Art cultural events like this help to connect people in our West Orange, NJ community.

This art and music community event plays a powerful role in celebrating Juneteenth by honoring African American history, culture, and resilience through creative artistic expression. These types of gatherings bring people together in a spirit of unity and reflection, showcasing Black artists, musicians, and telling stories through art, film, paintings, drawings, and literary works. These storytellers’ works embodies the struggle and triumphs of freedom. This Juneteenth event creates spaces where the legacy of emancipation is remembered and celebrated. They not only educate attendees about the significance of Juneteenth, but also strengthen community bonds and uplift Black voices in meaningful and inspiring ways.

This West Orange Arts Council’s Juneteenth Art Exhibit called Freedom in Full Color” is presented to our community in partnership with the West Orange Juneteenth Film Festival. The Juneteenth Art Exhibit runs through until July 12th, 2025. Make an appointment to see this art exhibit by contacting the West Orange Arts Council.
