The award-winning West Orange High School Sports Media Association (WOHSSMA) is proud to partner with the West Orange Arts Council (WOAC) to present GAME DAY: IN FOCUS – West Orange Sports Through Student Lenses, a first-of-its-kind photo gallery exhibition celebrating West Orange High School athletics and student creativity.

This unique exhibition highlights defining moments and historic performances from the fall sports season, captured by West Orange High School student photographers Miles Burton (’26), Vic Gonzalez (’27), and Alex Kien (’27). Through their lenses, visitors will experience the energy, emotion, and pride that define West Orange athletics—told from a student perspective.
Community members are invited to attend the opening reception, meet the student photographers, and celebrate their work. The evening will include food courtesy of BXJ (with additional local business partners to be announced), limited-edition “We Are West Orange” t-shirt giveaways, and special displays such as the Boys Soccer Group IV State Championship Trophy, along with select equipment and uniforms featured in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be on view through Sunday, January 25, 2026, with gallery hours on Sundays from 2:00–4:00 PM.
“Strong leadership within the WOHSSMA has created meaningful opportunities for our students, and this exhibition shows what happens when students take those opportunities seriously,” said Oscar Guerrero, Principal of West Orange High School. “These photographers approached their work with professionalism, creativity, and pride, and their images reflect the excellence of our school and community.”
Patricia Mitrano, Chair of the West Orange Arts Council, praised the partnership, saying, “We are excited to collaborate with WOHSSMA on an exhibition that brings new voices into our gallery space. This show highlights how student creativity can connect art, athletics, and community in powerful ways.”
Founded in 2022, the West Orange High School Sports Media Association (WOHSSMA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects the West Orange community with the award-winning West Orange High School Athletics program through events, content, and storytelling. WOHSSMA provides students with hands-on, real-world experience in media and creative production while fostering school pride and community engagement.
The West Orange Arts Council (WOAC) is dedicated to cultivating, inspiring, and supporting the performing, visual, and literary arts in West Orange and the surrounding community. Through exhibitions, performances, educational programs, and community partnerships, WOAC works to make the arts accessible, inclusive, and engaging for residents of all ages.
