The West Orange Arts Council (WOAC) invites artists to submit work for our Art of the Game exhibition—part of a town-wide public art initiative celebrating the summer of soccer. Artists are encouraged to create a one-of-a-kind piece using the soccer ball as the foundation— with painting, sculptural, and/or mixed-media approaches. Submissions may reflect themes of creativity, cultural diversity, teamwork, movement, and the global spirit of the game. Art pieces will be on display at the West Orange Arts Center along with other West Orange locations still being determined.
Entry participation: $15 for WOAC members & $40 non-members (includes 1 year WOAC membership) contribution supports exhibition and administrative costs and requires 2 hours gallery assisting at the West Orange Arts Center when open (Saturdays & Sundays 2- 4pm). WOAC provides gallery space, marketing (calendar listings, press release, social media, and e-newsletter).

Do not use official FIFA logos, emblems, mascots, or the World Cup trophy image on your ball. FIFA strictly protects its intellectual property, including the words “World Cup” and “FIFA”. Use your own, unique branding and branding, colors, and design, and focus on the local community aspect. Generic Terms such as “Soccer Celebration,” “Football in the Park,” or “Summer Soccer Festival” are allowed.
Balls will be displayed on pedestals or suspended from the wall/ceiling with transparent elastic tape and other exhibition materials and tools. Paint accordingly, as minor damage may occur.
WOAC Commission is 25% of all sales. Balls can be donated for a silent auction at the end of the exhibit to raise funds to “Save the West Orange Arts Center”

1. Enter via Google Forms (CLICK HERE). Registration online is required for this exhibit. It ensures accuracy of your name / art labeling and streamlines the submission process for gallery volunteers.
2. CLICK HERE to Fill Out Loan Agreement & Inventory Sheet (pg 2): bring with you at drop-off.
3. Attach a label to each of your art piece(s): use labels on pg 2 if needed.
